Welcome to my blog, Fishy Obsession.

My fish obsession started back when I was 4. I was presented with my first pair of guppies, which were placed at the far end of the kitchen bench. Here I spent many an hour perched on a dining room chair, mesmerised.

For me it was love at first sight.

From that time on our family always had a community tank set up. I got to observe all different kinds of community fish – from the livebearers; guppies, mollies, platies and swordtails, to varieties of tetras, to species of catfish, scissor tails, paradise fish, sharks and the like.

Aquarium shops were & are my second home. Amongst all the tank bubbles, humming filters and UV lights, life’s gamut of emotions & responsibilities are drowned out & all that’s left is me. The real me. I am still that 4 year old girl mesmerised by her first pair of guppies but now I have my own money & my own fishy limitations, or lack there of. :P

The aim of this blog is to note my experiences, share the trials & tribulations, to celebrate successful breedings, record fry/juvenile growth and to discuss & learn all things fishy.
